Over the years it stands to reason that my french has improved, though FAR from flawless. It is not my mother tongue so the advantages and disadvantages can be quite a big deal.

One of the advantages is the formal and informal "yous" (Vous and tu). I use this well in the way I practice my business and domination. During all contact for setting up a session and negotiation, I always address my client with the "vous" form. I think this helps me establish that I do respect them and their ideas/needs. Of course when the session begins I change to the familiar.

I know this is not an advantage to everybody, as some dommes try to be in role as much as possible, but for me it is quite convenient in further separate between the real world and play.

My hat's off to you! The negotiation and set up is often more work than the session itself. I can't imagine doing it in a language that's not my own. I'm sure my upcoming trip to Japan is going to have it's moments.

It has been a long learning curve, let me tell you. I am quite good at reading and writing so I keep most the negotiation to emails and text messages. During session I find I say a lot of the same things so, it comes to mind quickly--but my accent, ugh. Of course deeply psychological role play is only in available in English.

I spent a lot of time in Japan many many years ago and spoke some Japanese--polite, tourist conversational level. From what I experienced is even if a non-Japanese person spoke perfect Japanese, it would throw them so much, the common comment was, "It kind of sounds like they are speaking Japanese."

If I have learned one thing when dealing with people who do not have English as a first language is it is best to Speak. Like. A. G.P.S. People will be SO PLEASED with themselves that they understand you, it will make their day.
